The location, the gardens
The Bed room didn't have a window, if I were to know beforehand, I wouldn't have stayed there. Charged wrong amount for the room didn't get hot water in the morning. however when complained it was sorted the receptionist when checking out was so busy looking in to his computer, he paid no attention nor hardly turned his head off the computer

The staff were rude, the room was a dpubke but was two single beds pushed together. There was building going on right outside our room on the morning. I would not go or recommend this hotel to anyone. £45 was way too much for this hotel!!

I recently had a great stay at a hotel in Birmingham. The staff were friendly and provided helpful local information, just like the person on reception did in one of the reviews. The room was small but functional, perfect for a short stay. The hotel also had a bar where we could relax with a drink, just like the reviewer mentioned. And even though there was a small issue with the hot water in the shower, the overall sleep quality was good, just as the reviewer experienced.
Everything was fine, no major issues.

staff were really helpful giving us directions, getting taxis etc; my room was incredibly hot when I arrived so I asked if the heating could be adjusted when I went out for the evening and on my return I found a new valve had been fitted to the radiator - excellent!

It was good value for money, had parking and was close to city centre - easy to get the bus.

I recently stayed at a small family-owned hotel located near a popular restaurant chain. The staff members were extremely friendly and accommodating, making me feel like I was staying in a private residence. The newly refurbished rooms were very clean, and I appreciated the spacious bathroom. Another advantage of this hotel was its location, just a short drive away from the main train station and shopping area.
There were a few negative aspects that affected my overall experience. The hotel's location along a busy road caused traffic congestion, making it difficult to get around in the mornings.

Helpfull staff. Handy for city break as quite near to city centre but you don't really notice noise etc.
Shower did not work. Blinding bright halogen lamp in back yard shining into our room. Blind did not work 100%. I would of complained and had these corrected however we only stayed one night.

The food was excellent, the curry was cooked to order, we were asked how hot and spicy we liked it and chef did this amazing curry. Have now been spoilt, take aways will not be the same any more.
The bed was too short, my partners feet were well over the edge of the bed.

On arrival, quickly realised this is the 'poor relation' of the hotel next door! Greeted by note on front door saying 'all enquiries next door!' Not quite the concierge one's use to! However, this was very last minute and an ideal location, halfway for my daughter and I to spend the weekend together. Pleasant enough receptionist accompanied by not so pleasant colleague.....as confirmed later! The room was shabby, actual iron holes in carpet, very tired decor but had the most beautiful, obviously recently refurbished bathroom! I chose this hotel as it was described as having a lovely garden, ideal I thought! Granted the garden probably was once very lovely and matched the once lovely house, enough said.....

I recently stayed at a hotel that blew me away with its attention to detail and excellent service. the rooms were immaculate, with comfortable beds and a charming view of the garden that added a touch of serenity to my stay. The bathroom was also clean and well-maintained, ensuring a refreshing experience. In terms of value for money, this hotel exceeded my expectations, offering competitive prices for the level of comfort provided. The staff were friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to assist me when I needed help. Lastly, the breakfast was delicious and well-prepared, giving me the perfect start to my day.
No major issues, all was well.

The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was good (and reasonably priced) and the hotel was both clean and comfortable.
The one problem was the traffic noise. My room was at the front (alongside the main road) and the windows were not double glazed.

We loved the fact that the rooms were sackous, clean and comfortabke with little extras like a refrigerator in the room at thebatea/coffee point! Meaning we could use fresh milk! The room was a tripple, with a doublemand a single bed, but still giving pkenty of room. The bathroom/shower facility was excellent! The shiwer being bery modern, clean and easy to use -easily a two person shower! And with a deep tray at the bottom for paddling!
The inky complaint is breakfast and dinner were served in the adjoining hotel Edgbaston Palace Hotel that was downstairs and outside! Not only that, there was a lot of messing anout having to show your key to the cctv tocget back into the Cavalier House Hotel every time we left and returned -it would have been easier if the room key also had a downstairs door key, or electronic fob, with it instead. . . Woukd just have made it easier to use and more convenient. That is the only complaint and this would NOT stop us from using the hotel again as it represents awesome value for money and a good level of comfort! Thank you to the Hotel Manager for fixing breakfast formus on our last day as we had missed breakfast thinking it finished atxten rather than nine! That was bery much apreciated and a very nice, friendly touch -thank you!
